Jiayi presented our ant art project at the University of Georgia 4’33 contest and won the runner-up prize! The 4’33 contest celebrating student research in the arts during the university’s Spotlight on the Arts festival. The competition, “open to any graduate student or undergraduate student working on an advanced project, who is conducting research related to the literary, visual, or performing arts or artists”, invite innovative projects that challenge perspectives and inspire creative dialogue across disciplines.
Jiayi’s talk is titled “Rethinking pests: A contemporary art practice connecting art, science, and the natural world”, invites viewers to re-consider the concept of “pests” through a unique blend of artistic exploration and scientific research.
